Deep procrastination, student life and human ecosystem

Note: This might seem as stream of consciousness. I am working on it  :P I am primarily writing this for myself thoug, given that I hardly have any followers. ;)
I recently came across this article on articles every student should read.
http://calnewport.com/blog/2007/12/06/25-articles-every-student-should-read/

The site was quite interesting and personally, very relevant. I found this link which discussed about deep procrastination. Issues like procrastination are deep rooted and require conscious effort to overcome. (Believe me, its not easy). I would say, without a conscious effort and right frame of mind, it cannot be overcome at all! This is because not only it has become an old habit, but the feedback system for procrastination uses guilt, worry , fear or a lack of direction in life to breed more procrastination.

My friend, Sneha Raj. pointed out that having a good ecosystem is very important. The usage of the word "ecosystem" for a human being, in this technology age where there is hardly any ecology around us. ;) Interpersonal interactions are very important due to the influence they have on your mind set and mood. It is important that we associate with like minded peer groups and positive activities, both of which are an important part of our ecosystem.
It was an insightful discussion. Thanks, Sneha. :)

As a status msg of one of my friends said: “Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow.” - Mary Anne Radmacher"

Yesterday's failure need not hamper today's joy nor tomorrow's hopes.
Peace be with you. :)

The Sea and the Wind

This poem I wrote was published in Reflections, yearly magazine of IIT Madras. Hope you like it. :)
As I look out to the mighty sea,
aspirations and dreams unbounded, I see
I see a child laughing, dancing
clapping her hands in joy and glee
I remember the good old days
when that used to be me
I dash towards the clear blue sea,
smilingly as it beckons me
the cool water caresses my feet
as the waves at the shore gently beat
The wind meets the water
and together their laughter
rings on for eternity.
It reminds me of my poetry's reason
and the mirth in her laughter;
her smile is a joy in every season,
her presence I long for, forever and after.
